Kenya Highlights- Nairobi: Samburu, Aberdares, Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara
Duration: 8 Days / 7 nights Enquire
Day 1: Depart London Heathrow for Nairobi with an overnight flight arriving in the morning.
Day 2: After going through immigrations and customs you will be met by our representatives and transferred to theNairobi Hilton Hotel Or Safari Park hotel where you will be staying overnight. You
may opt to take some excursions around Nairobi, such as visiting the
Giraffe centre or the Daphne Sheldrick Home to see the orphaned baby
elephants being fed - or take a city tour (This will all be payable
locally £26 PP). Dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant.
Day 3: After breakfast, a very early departure for the beginning of your safari; we head north of Kenya passing through the equator line where we can stop for a demo on how water moves at each side of the equator; we then proceed to Samburu arriving in time for lunch. We have lunch at the Samburu Serena Lodge which will be our home for the next two nights. After lunch relax by the poolside awaiting the sun to go down so that you can have an evening game viewing drive. Diner and overnight at the Lodge.
Day 4: A very early morning game drive in this park thats home to the Grevy Zebra, Oryx, Kuddu the Big Five and a variety of bird life. Drive back to the lodge for your breakfast then either relax by the poolside or take an optional camel safari(pay locally) after which lunch will be served at the lodge. An afternoon at leisure by the pool is followed by an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.
Day 5: After breakfast, depart for Mount Kenya the home of the Aberdares forest and the Kikuyu tribe whose farms have made Kenya proud for their coffee exports. Drive through the farm lands to your next destination: the Serena Mountain lodge. Enjoy the tranquility of this tree-lodge. Take an afternoon walk in the woodlands as you recover from the Safari, awaiting an overnight game viewing at the "saltlick" from your balcony. Dinner and overnight at the Serena Mountain Lodge.
Day 6: After breakfast we head for Lake Nakuru stopping over at the Thompson Falls for a break on our way to a Lake that has been transformed pink by the flamingos. We have lunch at the Lake Nakuru Lodge. Then take an afternoon game drive to see the greater and the lesser flamingos. This is also home to the rhinos, lions, water buffalos, monkeys and many other different birds. Dinner and overnight at the Lake Nakuru Lodge.
Day 7: A very early start after breakfast; we head to Maasai
Mara home of the Maasai tribe and the Big Five. We arrive late
afternoon for lunch. Relax by the poolside to recover from the long
drive. An evening game drive is followed by dinner and overnight at the
Mara Serena Lodge
Day 8: A very early morning game drive (or optionally, a hot air balloon ride) is followed by breakfast. A full day at the Masai Mara park seeing different type of animals hunting and surviving while the Masai men graze their cattle in the same place. Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge .
Day 9: After breakfast we drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon. You will be transferred to the airport for your homebound flight OR, if you have chosen the Mombasa Extension, to the coast and the Nyali Beach Hotel for another 7 Nights!
